Duties:

• Drafting appellate briefs and related litigation documents for a variety of civil matters

• Arguing appeals before state and/or federal courts

• Conducting in-depth legal research and analysis on complex procedural and substantive issues

• Collaborating with trial teams to preserve and position issues for appeal

• Advising clients on litigation risks and strategy post-judgment

• Supporting internal knowledge sharing across practice groups and office locations

• Participating in firm-sponsored initiatives focused on leadership, diversity, and professional advancement

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in appellate litigation or general liability practice

• Strong writing, research, and oral advocacy skills

• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively

• Proven track record of reliability and consistent work performance

• Licensed and in good standing with the California Bar

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the California Bar (Required)

Skills:

• Advanced legal writing and persuasive communication

• Analytical thinking and strategic case planning

• Comfort with multi-tasking across jurisdictions and case types

• Ability to synthesize trial records and distill issues for appeal

• Tech proficiency in legal research platforms and case management tools
