A law firm in Austin is seeking a Business/Regulatory Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join their team. The candidate will primarily work on complex electric and telecommunications regulatory matters, along with various business matters such as administrative litigation, government affairs, regulated transactions, contract review, investment/financing, and mergers and acquisitions. Experience in the electric or telecommunications industry is strongly preferred. The role requires producing client-ready work products, providing excellent client service, and clear communication of legal principles.

 

Duties:

  • Work on complex electric and telecommunications regulatory matters
  • Handle administrative litigation and government affairs
  • Review and negotiate contracts
  • Assist with regulated transactions and mergers/acquisitions
  • Produce client-ready work products efficiently and with minimal supervision
  • Communicate complex legal principles clearly to non-experts
  • Adhere to ethical and professional standards
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

 

Requirements:

  • Admitted to the Texas Bar
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in the electric or telecommunications industry is preferred
  • Strong academic background, graduating in the top third of law school class
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines
