A law firm is seeking a Junior-Mid Level Benefits Associate Attorney for its office in Waukesha, WI. The ideal candidate should have 2-4 years of benefits experience in private practice, with proficiency in qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements. Supporting benefits and compensation in M&A, ERISA litigation, and withdrawal liability experience is a plus.

Job Overview: The Junior-Mid Level Benefits Associate Attorney will provide legal support and expertise in various aspects of benefits and compensation law, including qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements. The candidate must be detail-oriented and possess excellent writing, oral advocacy, communication, and legal analysis skills.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support on matters related to benefits and compensation.
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements and documents about benefits and compensation arrangements.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals on complex benefits and compensation matters.
  • Participate in client meetings and communicate legal advice effectively.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to benefits and compensation cases.
  • Stay updated on developments in benefits and compensation law.

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • 2-4 years of benefits experience in private practice.
  • Experience with qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements.
  • Experience supporting benefits and compensation in M&A, ERISA litigation, and withdrawal liability is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent writing, oral advocacy, communication, and legal analysis skills.
  • Excellent academic credentials.

  • Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team.

Education and Certifications:

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
