A law firm is seeking a Matrimonial/Family Law Associate Attorney for its New Hyde Park, NY location. The Matrimonial/Family Law Associate Attorney will manage an independent and collaborative caseload involving both litigation and uncontested matters. The candidate should possess extensive experience in client relations within a private law firm setting, along with proficiency in drafting legal documents, conducting depositions, and representing clients in court proceedings.

 

Duties:

  • Manage an independent and collaborative caseload for matrimonial and family law matters
  • Handle litigation and uncontested matters, including divorce packets and statements of net worth
  • Draft motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents
  • Conduct depositions, court conferences, trials/hearings, and client meetings
  • Provide exceptional client service and maintain positive client relations
  • Effectively manage cases from intake to resolution
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff members as needed
  • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations in matrimonial and family law

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in matrimonial law
  • Strong understanding of matrimonial and family law principles and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Admitted to practice law in New York
  • Experience in client relations within a private law firm setting

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Admission to practice law in New York
