Mid-level Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm located in Milwaukee is seeking a highly skilled Mid-level Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience and a strong background in intellectual property law. They should possess exemplary research capabilities, outstanding writing skills, and a very strong academic record. The role involves representing clients in various intellectual property disputes, including patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, trademark infringement, and copyright infringement, as well as experience before the PTAB. The candidate must have experience in all stages of litigation, from pre-filing investigations through appeals.

Duties:

• Conduct pre-suit due diligence investigations and develop case strategies.
• Manage complex discovery and negotiate discovery disputes.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Argue evidentiary motions, claim construction, and dispositive motions.
• Draft pleadings, motions, pre-trial briefings, and appeal briefs.
• Represent clients in all stages of litigation from pre-filing investigations through appeal.
• Handle various types of intellectual property disputes including patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, trademark infringement, and copyright infringement.
• Experience before the PTAB.
• Maintain accurate case files and ensure deadlines are met.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in a technological or scientific field preferred.
• 3-6 years of experience in intellectual property litigation.
• Strong research capabilities and exemplary writing skills.
• Experience in all stages of litigation including pre-filing investigations through appeal.
• Experience with managing complex discovery and discovery negotiations.
• Experience in taking and defending depositions.
• Experience in arguing evidentiary motions, claim construction, and dispositive motions.
• Experience in drafting pleadings, motions, pre-trial briefings, and appeal briefs.
• Very strong academic record.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in a technological or scientific field preferred.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
