Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Senior Construction Attorney to join its established Construction Practice Group in Texas. This role is ideal for attorneys with at least six years of experience in construction litigation, including significant courtroom exposure and trial preparation. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong advocacy skills, be detail-oriented, and possess a proactive approach to managing complex litigation matters.

Location:

  • Houston, TX

Duties:

  • Handle complex construction litigation cases from inception through trial

  • Manage all aspects of case development, including client interaction and case strategy

  • Prepare for and participate in court hearings, depositions, and motion practice

  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, and settlement agreements

  • Conduct legal research and analysis for case preparation and courtroom proceedings

  • Collaborate with internal legal teams and construction clients for tailored representation

  • Engage in negotiations and dispute resolution with opposing counsel

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction law and related regulations

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in construction litigation

  • Demonstrated trial preparation and courtroom experience

  • Experience with deposition strategy and motion practice

  • Familiarity with insurance defense processes is considered a plus

  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex cases with attention to detail

  • Strong client relationship and case management skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Texas (Required)

Skills:

  • Advanced legal research and writing

  • Strong oral and written advocacy

  • Effective negotiation and dispute resolution

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
