Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with experience in handling cases from initial filing through trial. Clerk experience will be considered. The ideal candidate will have prior personal injury experience, proficiency in the Spanish language, and the ability to handle various litigation tasks including drafting pleadings, depositions, motions, and settlement negotiations.

Duties:

• Handle cases from the initial filing of a lawsuit through trial.
• Draft and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and provide analysis on case-related issues.
• Interact with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Take depositions and present plaintiffs for deposition.
• Negotiate settlements and attend mediation.
• Answer and object to discovery requests.
• Prepare for and argue motions in court.

Requirements:

• Experience in litigation, with clerk experience considered.
• Additional desired experience includes prior personal injury experience, taking depositions, negotiating settlements, attending mediation, and drafting and arguing motions.
• Spanish language proficiency preferred.

Education & Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Texas.
