A law firm in Houston is seeking a Mid-Level Renewable Energy/Project Finance Associate Attorney with significant experience in renewable energy transactions. The successful candidate will join a top-tier and thriving group, taking on early responsibilities in complex transactions. Exposure to tax equity, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and debt financing structures is highly desirable.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support for renewable energy transactions.
  • Assume early responsibilities on complex transactions within the thriving group.
  • Offer expertise in tax equity, mergers and acquisitions, and debt financing structures.
  • Conduct due diligence and assess legal risks associated with renewable energy projects.
  • Draft and negotiate transactional documents, including power purchase agreements, financing agreements, and related contracts.
  • Collaborate with clients, senior attorneys, and other stakeholders to develop and execute effective legal strategies.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal developments and changes in the renewable energy sector.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar license in Texas.
  • Mid-level experience in renewable energy transactions.
  • Exposure to tax equity, mergers and acquisitions, and debt financing structures.

 

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy transactional matters.
  • Experience in tax equity, mergers and acquisitions, and debt financing.
  • Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills for transactional documents.
  • Ability to assess legal risks and provide strategic advice.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
