Job Overview: A law firm in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a Litigation Attorney to play a pivotal role in representing clients in complex litigation matters. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with experienced attorneys, engaging in all phases of litigation from case strategy development to trial representation. The work will directly contribute to advancing the legal interests of education and public agency clients.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in various litigation matters, including but not limited to, civil litigation, administrative proceedings, and appellate matters.
  • Develop case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys and clients.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
  • Manage caseload and meet deadlines effectively.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility to become admitted via reciprocity.
  • Litigation experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures and rules of evidence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility to become admitted via reciprocity.
