A law firm in Fayetteville is seeking an experienced Environmental Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for advising on various environmental matters, including mergers and acquisitions, permitting, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance. Strong writing and communication skills are essential for this role. The attorney will work closely with colleagues across offices and practice groups and directly engage with clients.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation on environmental matters related to mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, tax credits, and financing.
  • Advise clients on permitting issues associated with stormwater, air, and water emissions.
  • Assist with risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Address emerging contaminants and support renewable energy projects.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and negotiate agreements.
  • Interface with clients, colleagues, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Handle matters related to pollution legal liability insurance and prior defense sites, if applicable.

 

Requirements:

  • Law degree (JD) from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 5+ years of environmental law experience in the public and/or private sector.
  • Experience with federal environmental laws and standards (including CERCLA, NEPA, RCRA, TSCA, FIFRA, CWA, CAA).
  • Transactional experience in environmental law.
  • Familiarity with state and local environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Preferably, prior experience with pollution legal liability insurance and defense sites.
  • Portable business is preferred.

 

Education:

Law degree (JD) from an ABA accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
