Taxation Associate Attorney

A law firm based in Roseland, NJ, is seeking a Taxation Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of broad experience. The ideal candidate will support senior attorneys with tax aspects of corporate transactions, draft tax memoranda and opinions, and assist clients with IRS and state agency audits. The Taxation Associate Attorney will play a crucial role in the firm's tax practice, supporting senior attorneys with various tax-related matters. They will be responsible for drafting tax memoranda, assisting clients with audits, and drafting tax portions of legal agreements for business entities.

Duties:

• Support senior attorneys with tax aspects of corporate transactions.
• Draft tax memoranda and opinions for clients.
• Assist clients with IRS and various state agency audits.
• Appeal audit determinations on behalf of clients.
• Draft tax portions of Operating and Shareholder Agreements for business entities in multiple industries.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
• Conduct legal research on tax-related issues.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm.

Requirements:

• Admission to the New Jersey and New York Bar is required.
• LL.M. in Taxation is a plus.
• 3-5 years of broad experience in taxation.
• Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
