Job Overview: A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Mid-Level Licensing Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience to join their team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in intellectual property licensing, technology transfer, and related technology transactions, particularly within the life sciences arena.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate intellectual property licenses, including patent and trademark licenses.
  • Collaborate on joint development, collaboration, and other strategic alliance agreements.
  • Draft and negotiate technology licenses and services agreements, including software as a service agreement.
  • Negotiate distribution agreements.
  • Perform intellectual property and technology transaction due diligence for corporate transactions and technology transfers.
  • Provide IP support in corporate transactions in the life sciences sector.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on licensing and technology transfer matters.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with clients, partners, and team members.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Proven experience in intellectual property licensing, technology transfer, and technology transactions.
  • Strong background in IP support for corporate transactions, particularly in the life sciences industry.
  • Outstanding academic credentials.
  • Comparable experience in a law firm setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • California Bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active California Bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.
