This position involves initial client engagement, evaluation of landlord-tenant matters, and guiding property owners and managers through the eviction process. The role is ideal for someone with foundational civil litigation experience and an interest in real estate law, particularly landlord-tenant relations.

Duties

  • Evaluate new client cases and determine legal viability

  • Conduct legal consultations to provide strategic advice on eviction matters

  • Draft legal notices, demand letters, and initial pleadings

  • Research applicable state laws and regulations relevant to each matter

  • Communicate risks and legal issues clearly to clients

  • Review and prepare documentation such as complaints, stipulations, and settlement agreements

  • Support in occasional courtroom proceedings and client education sessions

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution

  • Active license to practice law in the state of California

  • Prior exposure to civil litigation workflows

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with landlord-tenant legal frameworks in California

  • Understanding of relevant sections of the California Civil Code

  • Direct experience or contact with the residential rental housing sector

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.)
