A law firm is seeking a Consumer Financial Services Career Attorney for their Atlanta, GA office. The Consumer Financial Services Career Attorney will focus on consumer finance-related litigation, with experience in areas such as Mortgage Servicing Litigation, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCPA), and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA). The ideal candidate should have strong academic and professional credentials. Additionally, candidates must be licensed and in good standing with at least one of the following State Bars: California, Nevada, Oregon, New Mexico, Washington, Arizona, Hawaii, or Oklahoma. Admissions to other Bars are a plus. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of consumer financial services matters in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

 

Duties:

  • Handle consumer finance-related litigation matters.
  • Represent clients in Mortgage Servicing Litigation cases.
  • Provide counsel on Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCPA) compliance.
  • Advise on Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on consumer finance laws and regulations.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Participate in case strategy development and client meetings.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior associates on consumer financial services cases.
  • Stay updated on developments in consumer finance laws and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of consumer finance-related litigation experience.
  • Experience with Mortgage Servicing Litigation, FDCPA, FCPA, and RESPA is a plus.
  • Strong academic and professional credentials.
  • Bar admission and in good standing with at least one of the following State Bars: California, Nevada, Oregon, New Mexico, Washington, Arizona, Hawaii, or Oklahoma.
  • Admissions to other State Bars are a plus.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Bar admission in the required State Bar(s).

  • Proficiency in consumer finance laws and regulations.
  • Ability to handle a variety of consumer finance-related litigation matters.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
