Job Title: Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm based in San Francisco, CA, is actively seeking a seasoned litigation attorney to join its employment and labor litigation team. This position is ideal for a professional with strong litigation experience who is ready to take on substantial responsibility in managing complex employment matters. This role blends in-person collaboration with remote flexibility, offering an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to high-impact cases in a hybrid work environment.

Duties:

  • Engage directly with clients to advise and strategize on employment litigation matters

  • Conduct in-depth interviews with key witnesses and stakeholders

  • Oversee discovery processes from start to finish

  • Handle both sides of depositions (taking and defending)

  • Draft and argue motions in state and federal courts

  • Develop and execute case strategies through all phases of litigation

  • Prepare dispositive motions, including, but not limited to:

    • Motions for summary judgment

    • Motions to strike

    • Anti-SLAPP motions

    • Demurrers and motions for judgment on the pleadings

  • Participate in mediations and other alternative dispute resolution forums

  • Lead or support at trial, depending on experience level

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in California

  • At least 5 years of experience handling employment-related disputes

  • Substantial prior experience with wage and hour, FLSA, and PAGA claims

  • Direct courtroom litigation experience

  • Demonstrated proficiency in drafting complex motions and conducting discovery

  • Familiarity with employment law in the public sector is beneficial

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • California Bar admission required and in good standing

Skills:

  • Strong legal writing and oral advocacy

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple active matters

  • Strategic thinker with attention to detail

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced litigation environment

  • Strong interpersonal communication for client-facing responsibilities

  • Technologically proficient, including litigation support tools and case management systems
