Job Overview:
A prominent litigation-focused law firm is seeking an experienced Trial Attorney to manage a high-volume caseload involving premises liability matters. This role is designed for a skilled litigator with a passion for courtroom advocacy and client service. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the firm’s mission to deliver justice through strategic litigation and effective trial work. This is an opportunity for a results-driven attorney to lead cases from intake through jury verdict in a dynamic, high-performance legal environment.

Location:

  • New Orleans, Louisiana

Duties:

  • Manage approximately 150 cases, including 50+ active litigation matters at any given time

  • Serve as lead counsel in jury trials, from voir dire to verdict

  • Conduct depositions, mediations, and motion practice

  • Develop litigation strategies tailored to each case

  • Draft and respond to motions, and participate in settlement negotiations

  • Maintain regular and transparent communication with clients

  • Collaborate with case managers and paralegals to manage workload efficiently

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years practicing personal injury or civil litigation

  • 5–8 years of litigation experience strongly preferred

  • First-chair jury trial experience required (minimum of 5 jury trial verdicts; 10+ preferred)

  • Familiarity with both plaintiff and defense litigation strategies; plaintiff-side experience preferred

  • Deep understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence

  • High caseload management ability and a proactive approach to litigation

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active and in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar

  • Additional state bar admissions preferred

Skills:

  • Advanced trial advocacy and courtroom presentation skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Case strategy development and legal research
