Landlord Tenant Attorney

A law firm is seeking a landlord-tenant attorney with the following qualifications:

Job Overview: The Landlord Tenant Attorney will counsel clients involved in landlord-tenant disputes, particularly in the eviction process. This role involves reviewing documents, offering legal advice through various communication channels, drafting legal correspondence, and representing clients in unlawful detainer trials in Orange County, Riverside, and San Bernardino courts. Additionally, the attorney will be expected to draft pre-trial motions and pleadings, possess strong organizational and communication skills, and be capable of completing project-based work to support the practice group.

Duties:

• Review documents and guide clients through the eviction process
• Provide legal advice through phone consultations, emails, and video conferences
• Draft legal correspondence, including letters and notices
• Litigate unlawful detainer trials in Orange County, Riverside, and San Bernardino courts
• Draft pre-trial motions and pleadings
• Complete project-based work and additional duties as needed to support the practice group

Requirements:

• J.D.
• Active California Bar license
• 2+ years of civil litigation experience
• General knowledge of civil litigation and landlord-tenant law
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Jury trial experience
• Experience in the rental housing industry
• Affordable housing experience
• Lexis/Westlaw experience
• ProLaw experience
