Insurance + Reinsurance Litigation Career Associate

Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a seasoned Career Associate to join its Insurance & Reinsurance Litigation Practice Group. This role is ideal for an attorney with 5 or more years of complex litigation experience, particularly in insurance coverage and bad faith matters. The successful candidate will also support other litigation areas as needed. This opportunity is suited for professionals who thrive in high-stakes environments, possess strong litigation acumen, and are comfortable working both independently and within a collaborative legal team.

Location:

• Irvine, CA

Duties:

• Handle insurance litigation cases including coverage disputes and bad faith claims

• Support broader complex litigation matters beyond insurance as assigned

• Appear in and manage cases in California state and federal courts

• Conduct legal research, draft motions, pleadings, and related litigation documents

• Develop case strategies and manage litigation workflow

• Work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating within a legal team

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of complex litigation experience

• Strong courtroom and litigation practice in both California state and federal courts

• Preferred experience with insurance coverage under general liability and property/casualty policies

• Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume caseloads efficiently

• Proven capacity for independent decision-making and strategic legal analysis

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license in good standing with the State Bar of California

Skills:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
