Associate Attorney Insurance Defense

A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney to join a collaborative insurance defense and coverage practice in Irvine, CA. Duties

• Assist in defending insurance carriers in coverage disputes and liability matters

• Draft and review pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda related to insurance claims

• Conduct legal research on policy language, coverage issues, and pertinent case law

• Manage discovery tasks, including preparing interrogatories, document production, and responses

• Participate in depositions, mediations, and court hearings under supervision

• Collaborate with senior attorneys and adjusters to develop defense strategies

• Maintain organized case files and track deadlines in a case management system

Requirements

• 1–10 years of experience in insurance defense, coverage litigation, or related civil litigation

• Proven ability to work independently while contributing to a team-focused practice

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the capacity to juggle multiple matters

• Demonstrated enthusiasm for hands-on, collaborative legal work

• Commitment to maintaining a healthy work-life balance within a supportive firm culture

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar (or pending admission)
