Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm in Dallas, TX is seeking a mid-level associate attorney with experience in insurance litigation to join its Fidelity, Surety & Coverage practice group. This role is ideal for a litigator with significant federal court experience and a background in professional-lines insurance matters. The associate will handle complex, high-value insurance coverage disputes—particularly in the areas of crime and professional liability insurance—primarily in federal court.

Location:

  • Dallas, Texas

Duties:

  • Manage and litigate high-dollar, complex insurance coverage disputes

  • Evaluate insurance claims, particularly related to crime and professional liability insurance

  • Draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and briefs

  • Conduct depositions and court hearings in federal courts

  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys to develop litigation strategies

  • Provide legal counsel and risk assessments to clients regarding coverage issues

  • Maintain consistent and effective communication with clients and team members

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience

  • Prior involvement in federal court litigation including:

    • Depositions

    • Hearings

  • Prior work with professional-lines insurance (crime insurance experience a plus but not required)

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Texas or eligible for immediate admission

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and writing skills

  • Strong oral communication and advocacy abilities

  • Attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently

  • Proficiency in collaborating within a team-focused environment
