Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney for its Palo Alto, California office. The role involves representing plaintiffs in individual and class action employment discrimination cases, as well as assisting with gender discrimination, Title IX sexual assault cases, qui tam and whistleblower matters, wage and hour actions, ERISA matters, and consumer fraud cases.

Duties

  • Represent plaintiffs in employment discrimination matters.
  • Conduct factual and legal research.
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Participate in discovery and provide legal advice to clients.
  • Assist in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, trials, and court hearings.
  • Engage in direct settlement negotiations and litigation.
  • Supervise legal assistants on cases.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in complex and employment litigation.
  • Membership in good standing with the State Bar of California or pending admission.
  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with California employment law is preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in California.

Skills

  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
