Mid-level Medical Devices and Mechanical Engineering Patent Prosecution Patent Agent

A law firm in Denver is currently seeking a Mid-level Medical Devices and Mechanical Engineering Patent Prosecution Patent Agent. The ideal candidate will have a background in biomedical or mechanical engineering, complemented by substantial patent experience in medical devices and/or mechanical products. Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is a requirement. The candidate should possess a high level of academic achievement, demonstrate solid law firm, engineering, or industry experience, and exhibit exceptional writing and communication skills.

Duties:

• Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and legal colleagues to assess and understand technical concepts related to medical devices and mechanical engineering innovations.
• Assist in drafting and preparing patent applications and responses to office actions.
• Conduct legal research to support patent prosecution efforts.
• Analyze and interpret complex technical documents, translating them into patent applications.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering; other engineering disciplines with substantial patent experience in medical devices and/or mechanical products will be considered.
• Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• 3+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• High level of academic achievement.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.

Certifications:

Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
