Job Overview: A law firm in New York City is seeking a skilled Patent Agent with expertise in Biotech/Chemistry. The role involves drafting patent applications and prosecuting them before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, as well as international patent offices.

Duties:

• Draft patent applications in the Biotech/Chemistry field.
• Prosecute patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and global patent offices.
• Conduct research to understand new technologies relevant to patent applications.
• Collaborate with inventors and attorneys to gather necessary information for patent filings.
• Assist in patent portfolio management and strategy development.

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in Biotech/Chemistry or related field.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Ability to quickly grasp new technologies.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Preferably some experience in patent drafting and prosecution.
• Registered to practice before the USPTO or willing to sit for the registration exam.

Education:

• Ph.D. in Biotech/Chemistry or related field.
