Job Overview

A prominent law firm based in Houston, TX is actively looking to expand its Energy Transactions & Infrastructure Projects team with the addition of a mid to senior-level associate. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in transactional law, particularly those with experience in complex project financing and mergers & acquisitions within the energy and infrastructure sectors. Duties

  • Oversee and manage legal aspects of high-value energy and infrastructure project transactions

  • Lead and support negotiations related to financing arrangements and acquisition/disposition agreements

  • Draft and review key transaction documents including purchase agreements, credit agreements, and ancillary documentation

  • Collaborate across legal and business teams to ensure efficient deal execution

  • Provide strategic advice on legal and commercial risk for complex transactions

  • Stay current with relevant laws and regulatory developments in the energy and infrastructure sectors

  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and participate in client development initiatives

  • Maintain high standards of professional and client service

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of experience in a major transactional practice, with a focus on project finance or M&A

  • Demonstrated ability to lead deal processes with limited supervision

  • Solid understanding of legal issues specific to energy, infrastructure, or related industries

  • Strong business judgment and analytical skills

  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication abilities

  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality legal services

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • Must be in good standing with the relevant State Bar; Texas Bar admission preferred or willingness to obtain

Skills

  • Expertise in structuring and executing complex transactional matters

  • Familiarity with project development frameworks, financing structures, and deal lifecycle management

  • Ability to navigate client priorities while maintaining legal integrity

  • Strong organizational, leadership, and client service capabilities

  • Proficient in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite
