A law firm in Los Angeles is seeking a skilled General Municipal Law Attorney with 3+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise in General Municipal Law, Code Enforcement, Water Law, and Sanitation District Law. The firm offers a hybrid work arrangement option and an annual telecommute budget to support remote work. Attorneys are expected to meet a billable hour requirement of 1850 and will receive competitive health insurance benefits, a 401(k) with a partial match, and are eligible for annual discretionary and billable hour bonuses.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and representation to municipalities, government agencies, and special districts
  • Draft and review contracts, ordinances, resolutions, and other legal documents
  • Advise clients on compliance with municipal codes, regulations, and state laws
  • Represent clients in administrative hearings, arbitration, and litigation proceedings
  • Assist with land use planning, zoning, and development matters
  • Handle matters related to code enforcement, including violations and penalties
  • Research legal issues and prepare memoranda and opinions for clients
  • Negotiate agreements and settlements on behalf of clients

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law in General Municipal Law
  • Experience in Code Enforcement, Water Law, and Sanitation District Law preferred
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the California State Bar in good standing
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Admission to the California State Bar in good standing
