Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney for their Estates and Trusts practice group in San Francisco, CA. Duties

  • Represent trustees, executors, heirs, and beneficiaries in probate and trust administrations.
  • Counsel clients on suitable estate plans and gifting strategies.
  • Draft necessary documents to implement estate plans.
  • Advise high-net-worth clients on estate, gift, and GST tax planning strategies.
  • Manage large-scale client projects with effective communication.
  • Collaborate with clients and their advisors on wealth planning solutions.
  • Conduct legal research and stay informed on tax law changes.
  • Run post-mortem trust administrations independently.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years handling estate planning and trust administration for taxable estates.
  • Solid skills in gift, estate, and GST tax planning.
  • Proven ability to manage a busy practice independently.
  • Interest in team success and mentorship of junior members.
  • Practical problem-solving approach and resourcefulness.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to and in good standing with the California Bar.
  • L.L.M. in Taxation, desired.

Skills

  • Ability to draft complex estate planning documents independently.
  • Expertise in advising fiduciaries and managing trust administrations.
