A law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 1-4 years of general commercial litigation experience. The ideal candidate should be a creative thinker, take initiative, and focus on efficiently solving complex problems. The role requires a strong desire to take depositions, argue motions or hearings, and try cases, with prior experience before the NC Business Court being a plus. The candidate should have the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, possess excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills, and hold a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Membership in the North Carolina State Bar is required or the ability to promptly obtain admission in North Carolina.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation strategy.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Take depositions and participate in all aspects of discovery.
  • Represent clients in hearings, motions, and trial proceedings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop and execute case strategies.
  • Stay updated on legal developments and changes in relevant laws and regulations.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys to gain insights and enhance legal skills.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of general commercial litigation experience.
  • Strong desire to take depositions, argue motions or hearings and try cases.
  • Prior experience before the NC Business Court is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
