Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Construction Litigation Associate to join its team in Charlotte, NC. This position offers a unique opportunity for a lateral associate to be part of a dynamic team in a growing office.

Duties

  • Manage complex construction law cases from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct court hearings, including dispositive motion practice.
  • Analyze complex fact patterns and apply relevant case and statutory law.
  • Engage in depositions, including taking and defending key fact and expert witnesses.
  • Participate in various dispute resolution methods, such as mediation and arbitration.
  • Draft contracts using standard construction industry forms, such as AIA.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of meaningful construction law experience.
  • Admitted to, or willing to be admitted to, and in Good Standing with the Georgia and/or North Carolina Bar.
  • Experience in court hearings and dispositive motion practice.
  • Knowledge of standard construction industry forms.

Education

  • Respectable academic credentials.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the Bar in Georgia and/or North Carolina.

Skills

  • Ability to manage complex cases through all forms of dispute resolution.
  • Strong analytical skills for applying case and statutory law.
  • Experience in depositions and dispute resolution.
  • Contract drafting skills.
