A law firm in Lexington, NC is seeking an experienced Real Estate Lawyer to join their team. The candidate will be responsible for attending closings, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and effectively representing clients in real estate transactions.

 

Duties:

  • Attend closings and represent clients effectively.
  • Facilitate transfer of title between borrowers, real estate agents, and title companies.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions for real estate transactions.
  • Complete thorough due diligence and inspect legal documents, title examination, and closing binder for legal risk, completion, and accuracy.
  • Provide sound legal advice considering all legal aspects of clients' circumstances and desired outcomes.
  • Draw up and review purchase and property management agreements, contracts, title abstracts, summaries, commitments, probate and trust documents, leases, and financing statements.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a residential or commercial real estate attorney, transactional attorney, or corporate counsel for a real estate development firm.
  • Licensed by the North Carolina State Bar and a member of the local Bar Association.
  • Computer proficiency.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Completion of accredited law school with a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree.
  • Current law license in the state.

 

Skills:

  • Proven track record and extensive real estate transaction experience.
  • Superb negotiation, networking, research, and communication skills.
  • Ability to review and draft legal documents accurately.
  • Attention to detail and thorough due diligence.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
