Associate Attorney needed for New York City office

A law firm seeking an Associate Attorney in New York City, NY:

Job Overview: The Associate Attorney will play a pivotal role in providing legal support to the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) and Strategy groups and FIG platform companies. This role involves assisting with various transactions, governance matters, fund-related issues, and commercial agreements. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, be adept at building relationships, and possess a strong background in mergers and acquisitions within a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department.

Duties:

• Assist with transactions of varying scale and scope involving FIG and/or Strategy groups or FIG platform companies.
• Aid in board administration and governance-related matters concerning FIG platform companies.
• Provide general legal support to FIG and Strategy groups and FIG platform companies.
• Review and draft commercial agreements for in-house legal and FIG platform companies.
• Review and counsel on disclosures and marketing materials.
• Collaborate with business leadership, portfolio managers, and other leads across in-house legal and portfolio/platform companies.

Requirements:

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admitted in good standing to the New York Bar.
• 2+ years of legal experience.
• 2+ years of relevant legal experience in mergers and acquisitions within a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department of a registered investment advisor, hedge fund, or fund of funds.
• Experience advising asset management firms preferred.
