Duties

• Manage all phases of professional liability defense litigation from initial claim through trial or settlement
• Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, depositions, and arbitrations
• Draft and respond to pleadings, discovery requests, and dispositive motions
• Conduct legal research and case analysis to develop strategic defenses
• Communicate effectively with clients, insurers, and opposing counsel
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff to ensure timely and accurate case handling
• Maintain case documentation and comply with deadlines and court procedures

Requirements

• 5 years of litigation experience, with a focus on professional liability or related practice areas
• Experience defending claims against professionals such as lawyers, doctors, accountants, or engineers
• Licensed to practice law in the state of California
• Strong litigation and courtroom experience, including motion practice and trial preparation

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active and in good standing with the California State Bar
