Job Title: Civil Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A respected law firm based in Pittsburgh, PA, is actively seeking a litigation associate with at least two years of relevant experience to support a busy civil litigation practice. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with experienced attorneys on a range of legal matters, including civil defense, employment, workers’ compensation, and domestic relations. The associate will be expected to participate in the full spectrum of litigation responsibilities and contribute to the continued success of the team in both Pennsylvania and West Virginia jurisdictions.

Duties:

• Represent clients in legal proceedings, including depositions, hearings, and trials

• Draft legal memoranda, motions, pleadings, and correspondence

• Conduct legal research using various platforms and databases

• Assist with case strategy and pre-trial preparation

• Work in coordination with senior legal staff on complex casework

• Manage case files and deadlines in an organized, efficient manner

• Engage professionally with clients to maintain effective communication and satisfaction

• Support additional practice areas such as employment law, workers’ compensation, and family law as needed

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in litigation practice

• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple legal matters in a fast-paced environment

• Strong research and writing capabilities

• Effective verbal communication and client-facing skills

• Familiarity with litigation procedure and discovery process in PA; WV bar admission a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar (mandatory)

• Admission to the West Virginia Bar (preferred)
