Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 5-10 years of experience, preferably with 3+ years of Personal Injury litigation experience.

Job Overview:

The Litigation Associate Attorney will handle cases from complaint to trial, manage files, and lead litigation and pre-litigation teams. They will interact with clients, adjusters, staff, and other lawyers, demonstrating strong attention to detail and a cohesive team spirit.

Duties:

• Handle cases from signup through trial.
• Manage prelitigation files through presuit negotiations.
• Work up litigation files from filing the lawsuit to trial.
• Regularly interact with clients, adjusters, staff, and other lawyers.
• Lead a litigation team of 5+ people.
• Lead a prelitigation team of 2-3.
• Litigate cases from beginning to end.
• Supervise and manage other team members.
• Expand trial skills and knowledge.
• Obtain board certification in truck accident law.
• Work independently and be accountable.

Requirements:

• Admission to some or all Illinois federal courts.
• Experience in personal injury litigation.
• Experience handling cases involving commercial motor vehicles.
• Trial experience preferred.
• Commercial case experience is a plus.

Education & Certifications:

• Graduate of an ABA-accredited law school.
• Current member of the Illinois Bar in good standing.

Skills:

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Ability to work cohesively in a team environment.
• Pre-litigation case management and negotiation experience.
• Experience litigating trucking and other commercial motor vehicle cases is a plus.

Experience:

• 5-10 years of experience.
• 3+ years of Personal Injury litigation experience.
