A law firm in North Charleston, SC is seeking a Personal Injury Lawyer with 3+ years of experience in personal injury litigation or trial experience. The candidate will negotiate agreements, communicate with clients and relevant parties, draft legal documents, represent clients in various legal proceedings, and provide legal advice on personal injury claims.

 

Duties:

  • Negotiate suitable agreements and settle on behalf of clients when appropriate.
  • Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, insurance adjusters, supporting witnesses, and medical providers to gather information.
  • Review, modify, and draft motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, claims, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients at hearings, trials, mediations, depositions, and other litigation proceedings.
  • Assess potential personal injury claims and provide legal advice to prospective clients accordingly.

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of personal injury litigation or trial experience in wrongful death, medical malpractice, personal injury, or civil litigation practice areas.
  • State license to practice law and membership in the State Bar Association are mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree and J.D. degree from accredited institutions.
  • Good understanding of personal injury law/tort law, medical terminology, wrongful death, civil and family law, and medical malpractice is desired.

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree and J.D. degree from accredited institutions.

 

Certifications:

  • State license to practice law.
  • Membership in the State Bar Association.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent credentials.
  • Superb drafting, research, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of personal injury law/tort law, medical terminology, wrongful death, civil and family law, and medical malpractice.
