Patent Agent

Job Overview: A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking a skilled Patent Agent with at least 2 years of patent prosecution experience. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in patent prosecution related to 5G, Wi-Fi, artificial intelligence, processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end technologies. Excellent academic credentials, along with exceptional analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, are essential. An Electrical Engineering degree (or equivalent) is preferred. The candidate must be registered with the United States Patent Trademark Office (USPTO) or qualified to register for the USPTO.

Duties:

• Conduct patent prosecution activities related to various technologies including 5G, Wi-Fi, artificial intelligence, processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end.
• Draft patent applications, responses to office actions, and other legal documents.
• Conduct patentability searches and analyses.
• Collaborate with attorneys and inventors to strategize patent prosecution efforts.
• Assist in patent portfolio management and maintenance.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of patent prosecution experience.
• Experience in patent prosecution within the realms of 5G, Wi-Fi, artificial intelligence, processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end technologies.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Registered with the United States Patent Trademark Office (USPTO) or qualified to register for the USPTO.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field (preferred).

Certifications:

• Registration with the United States Patent Trademark Office (USPTO) or eligibility for registration.

Skills:

• Proficiency in patent prosecution procedures and regulations.
• Ability to conduct patentability searches and analyses.
