Job Overview: The Environmental Associate Attorney will handle litigation and regulatory matters about federal and state environmental laws. The role will involve working on environmental permitting, renewable energy development, due diligence, enforcement actions, and contaminated properties. Duties:

  • Manage litigation and regulatory matters related to environmental laws.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on environmental issues.
  • Draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, and opinions.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients on environmental compliance matters.
  • Assist in negotiations and settlements with regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in environmental due diligence investigations for transactions.
  • Advise clients on risk management strategies for environmental liabilities.
  • Stay updated on changes in environmental laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in environmental law.
  • Litigation and/or regulatory experience in federal and state environmental laws.
  • Familiarity with environmental permitting processes and renewable energy development.
  • Experience in environmental due diligence and contaminated properties.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • New York Bar or Washington, D.C. license.

Education/Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York Bar or Washington, D.C. Bar.
