A law firm in Lawrenceville is seeking a highly qualified Tax Attorney with 7-10 years of law firm or clerkship experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, multistate tax issues, federal, state, and local tax controversies, global transactions, and restructuring, as well as private equity and venture capital experience. The firm is specifically looking for individuals with a keen interest in building or continuing a practice focused on tax matters.

 

Duties:

  • Handle a diverse range of tax and transactional matters, including but not limited to mergers and acquisitions, multistate tax issues, federal, state, and local tax controversies, global transactions, restructuring, private equity, and venture capital.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews and provide expertise in federal and state tax incentives.
  • Engage in technical research to ensure comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
  • Manage tax return compliance and provide guidance on employee benefits matters.
  • Represent public and private organizations with local, national, and multinational operations.
  • Utilize strong writing and analytical skills to prepare legal documents, reports, and opinions.

 

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of relevant law firm or clerkship experience.
  • Prior experience in a law firm environment is highly preferred.
  • Admitted to practice in the state.
  • Excellent academic background.
  • Extensive experience in tax and transactional matters, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, multistate tax issues, and federal, state, and local tax controversies.
  • Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar.
