Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Employment Law Attorney with at least five years of experience in employment and general business law for its Grandview, OH office. The ideal candidate is a licensed Ohio attorney who is motivated, detail-oriented, and interested in long-term partnership potential within a collaborative and professional work environment.

Duties

  • Advise clients on employment law issues, including wage and hour compliance and employment discrimination claims.
  • Represent clients in employment-related claims, including administrative actions and litigation.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements and severance packages.
  • Work closely with businesses to mitigate legal risk and promote HR compliance.
  • Participate in business development through relationship-building with clients.
  • Contribute to the firm's marketing efforts by writing articles and presenting at seminars.
  • Collaborate with attorneys in the Business Law Practice Group on overlapping matters.
  • Serve on at least one firm committee or task force to support firm-wide initiatives.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in employment law required.
  • General business law experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience handling employment discrimination claims and wage and hour issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships independently.
  • Actively involved in local bar associations and legal community engagement.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; public speaking experience is a plus.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities.
  • A collaborative team player with interest in long-term firm growth and leadership.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio.
