Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking mid-level Associates with 4–6 years of experience to join its Corporate Transactions practice group. The role will involve working on complex and high-value mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, and corporate finance transactions. This position is ideal for attorneys who thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment and seek exposure to a broad range of sophisticated deal work with clients across industries.

Location:

  • Charlotte, NC

Duties:

  • Advise clients on a variety of transactional matters including mergers & acquisitions, private equity, and corporate governance

  • Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements and deal documentation

  • Handle all aspects of deal execution, including structuring, diligence, negotiations, and closings

  • Coordinate with internal practice groups and external advisors (e.g., investment bankers, consultants)

  • Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior associates when necessary

Requirements:

  • 4–6 years of corporate transactional experience from a major law firm

  • Demonstrated experience with M&A, leveraged buyouts, and corporate governance

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking

  • Ability to manage complex transactions and interact directly with clients and advisors

  • Excellent time management and project execution skills

  • Interest or experience in ESOP M&A is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

  • Strong academic credentials

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in the state of the office location or eligibility to waive in

Skills:

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-based practice

  • Familiarity with U.S. corporate and securities laws relevant to M&A and private equity

  • Commitment to client service and responsiveness

  • Effective interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic

Its areas of concentration include corporate real estate, business transactions, and real estate capital markets. Fifteen qualified attorneys are on staff.
