A law firm located in Brattleboro, VT, is seeking a Foreclosure Attorney to oversee and manage all aspects of the foreclosure process in the State of Vermont. The Foreclosure Attorney will be responsible for drafting and reviewing all necessary documentation, representing the interests of mortgage lenders and/or servicers, attending court hearings and mediations, and providing legal counsel to foreclosure clients. The ideal candidate should possess a Juris Doctor degree, be admitted to the bar in the State of Vermont, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee and collaborate closely with support staff in drafting and reviewing all documentation required for judicial mortgage foreclosures in Vermont.
  • Handle related matters, including debt disputes and defense against counterclaims and actions to enjoin foreclosure.
  • Manage all stages of the foreclosure process in Vermont, from demand to the recording of foreclosure deeds.
  • Represent the interests of mortgage lenders and/or servicers throughout the foreclosure process.
  • Review all statutorily required notices, correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Efficiently respond to written inquiries or disputes.
  • Attend and advocate in motions and other court hearings.
  • Participate in mediation sessions related to foreclosure proceedings.
  • Provide legal counsel and support to foreclosure clients.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • Admission to the bar in the State of Vermont is required.
  • Admission to the bar in other New England states is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with large and complex clients.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in the State of Vermont.
