Matrimonial & Family Law Associate Attorney

Location:

Duties:

• Represent clients in all aspects of matrimonial and family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, and equitable distribution

• Draft and review pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and settlement agreements

• Participate in court appearances, negotiations, and mediations

• Analyze complex financial data, including business valuations and asset division

• Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and experts

• Assist in developing legal strategies and case management

• Work collaboratively with senior attorneys and staff on active litigation matters

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of relevant legal experience in matrimonial/family law or transferable litigation experience

• Demonstrated courtroom presence and legal writing skills

• Experience handling emotionally sensitive, high-stress matters

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment

• Strong analytical and organizational skills

• Financial literacy, particularly with regard to complex asset and income structures

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active and in good standing with the New York State Bar

Skills:

• Legal writing and oral advocacy

• Matrimonial and family law litigation

• Financial analysis and asset division

• Client communication and relationship management

• Familiarity with LexisNexis, Family Law Software, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
