Job Overview:

A prominent litigation-focused law firm based in New York City is actively seeking an experienced Family and Matrimonial Law Attorney to join its growing legal team. Duties:

• Manage contested matrimonial and family law cases from inception to resolution

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including court appearances, motion practice, depositions, and trials

• Conduct and oversee financial discovery, net worth statements, and asset/liability analysis

• Prepare and argue motions related to equitable distribution, custody, and support

• Engage in settlement negotiations and prepare settlement agreements

• Draft legal documents, memoranda, and pleadings with strong attention to legal precision

• Supervise junior attorneys and guide paralegals and support staff when necessary

• Maintain consistent client communication and ensure timely updates on case progress

Requirements:

• Current license to practice law in New York State

• At least 5 years of experience in contested matrimonial and family law litigation

• Demonstrated ability to manage high-conflict cases independently

• Proficiency in courtroom procedures, including trial preparation and execution

• Strong command of family law principles and financial aspects of divorce

• Exceptional research, legal writing, and advocacy skills

• Ability to manage a demanding caseload while maintaining attention to detail

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar (mandatory)
