A law firm seeks a Mid-Level Employee Benefits Executive Compensation Associate Attorney in Kansas City, MO.

Job Overview:

The Mid-Level Employee Benefits Executive Compensation Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling a broad range of employee benefits and executive compensation matters. The ideal candidate should have at least 3+ years of experience and possess a high level of academic achievement, along with superb writing, drafting, and communication skills.

Duties:

  • Drafting, designing, implementing, and administering tax-qualified and non-qualified retirement plans
  • Drafting, designing, implementing, and administering health and welfare benefit plans
  • Handling executive compensation and benefits aspects of mergers and acquisitions
  • Addressing taxation issues related to executive compensation arrangements, including Sections 409A and 280G of the Internal Revenue Code
  • Designing and drafting employment and other executive compensation arrangements

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation matters
  • High level of academic achievement
  • Law firm experience
  • Superb writing, drafting, and communication skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of Missouri (preferred)

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of tax laws related to employee benefits and executive compensation
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents
