A law firm is seeking an Attorney for their Dallas, TX location. The ideal candidate would have 3-5 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in consumer finance, commercial litigation, consumer banking litigation, loan workouts, and collections involving pre- and post-judgment remedies.

Job Overview:

  • Reviewing and preparing motions, covering hearings, preparing clients for depositions, and attending depositions.
  • Researching and analyzing relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents related to commercial litigation and business law matters.
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other legal documents for use in commercial litigation proceedings.
  • Communicating with clients to provide updates on case developments, answer questions, and address concerns related to commercial litigation matters.
  • Representing clients in court proceedings, including attending hearings, arguing motions, and participating in trials related to commercial litigation cases.
  • Collaborating with senior attorneys to develop legal strategies and tactics for resolving commercial litigation disputes.
  • Participating in settlement negotiations with opposing parties to reach favorable resolutions for clients in commercial litigation matters.
  • Analyzing complex legal issues related to commercial disputes and providing strategic advice and counsel to clients based on applicable laws and regulations.
  • Reviewing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to assess their implications for commercial litigation matters and advise clients accordingly.
  • Staying informed about developments in commercial law, litigation strategies, and industry trends through continuing legal education and professional development activities.

Requirements:

  • Admitted to practice in the State of Texas.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent research abilities and written and oral communication skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Skills:

  • 3-5 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in consumer finance, commercial litigation, consumer banking litigation, loan workouts, and collections involving pre- and post-judgment remedies.
  • Strong understanding of commercial law and litigation strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
