Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with a strong interest in civil litigation defense to join its expanding team. This position is offered through a legal recruiting partner acting on behalf of the firm. Duties:

• Represent clients in civil litigation matters, including auto, premises, general liability, and medical/dental malpractice

• Conduct legal research, draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses

• Prepare for and attend court appearances, including hearings and trials, in person and remotely

• Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff in developing defense strategies

• Manage a caseload with efficiency, meeting deadlines and court obligations

• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel

• Participate in case evaluations, risk analysis, and settlement negotiations

Requirements:

• 0-2 years of relevant litigation or insurance defense experience

• Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of California and/or Nevada

• Ability to appear in court independently

• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills

• Organized and responsive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments

• Comfortable using legal software and litigation management tools

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license with the California and/or Nevada State Bar

Skills:

• Legal research and writing proficiency

• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

• Effective time management and multitasking

• Team-oriented with a professional demeanor

• Familiarity with civil procedure and litigation strategy
