A law firm in Brisbane is seeking an experienced and accomplished Senior Employment and Labour Associate Attorney to join their team. The role involves representing employers in various legal matters, providing strategic advice on employment issues, and supervising junior team members. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in both contentious and non-contentious employment matters and possess excellent communication and leadership skills.

 

Duties:

  • Represent employers in unfair dismissal, discrimination, and general protection claims.
  • Advise on enterprise bargaining strategy and implementation.
  • Represent employers in industrial disputes.
  • Provide advice on disciplinary and performance issues.
  • Advise on workplace bullying and harassment, including investigations.
  • Advise on organizational restructures, commercial transactions, and transfer of business issues.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members.
  • Conduct business development and marketing initiatives, including client training, external seminars, and tender document preparation.
  • Work across contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
  • Deal directly with clients and collaborate across the NRFA network.
  • Demonstrate excellent written, drafting, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to supervise junior lawyers and lead teams on matters.

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) working within a well-recognized and reputable employment law practice.
  • Extensive experience in representing employers in various legal matters.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise bargaining, industrial disputes, and employment-related issues.
  • Proven ability to supervise junior lawyers and lead teams.
  • Excellent written, drafting, and verbal communication skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from a recognized institution.

 

Certifications:

Admission to practice law in Queensland.
