A law firm in New York City is seeking a Mid-Level Investment Funds Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in investments, particularly in the formation of domestic and international private equity, real estate, venture capital, and hedge funds. Experience with secondary transactions, separately managed accounts, and carry vehicles is a plus. The candidate should exhibit excellent analytical and writing skills, attention to detail, and good business judgment.

 

Job Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to investment funds and securities regulations.
  • Assist in the structuring and formation of domestic and international investment funds.
  • Draft and review offering documents, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Participate in negotiations and due diligence processes.
  • Provide legal advice and support on fund-related matters to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Handle regulatory compliance matters related to investment funds.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm on various projects.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of legal matters and client interactions.
  • Keep abreast of relevant legal developments and industry trends.

 

Requirements:

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice in Illinois.
  • 3-6 years of experience in a relevant legal field.
  • Direct experience in an AmLaw 100 law firm or SEC experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of investment fund structures and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar.
