Job Overview:

Location:

Duties:

  • Handle criminal prosecution in a small-town municipal court.

  • Engage in general civil litigation, including cases related to property, commercial, business, creditor-debtor, land use, environmental, municipal, and water law.

  • Represent clients including businesses, government entities, associations, and individuals.

  • Work collaboratively with a supportive team of paralegals and administrative staff.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.

  • Contribute to business development efforts to grow a strong litigation practice in the local community.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of litigation experience.

  • Expressed commitment to working in Whatcom County and handling both criminal prosecution and civil litigation cases.

  • Interest in other areas of practice is a plus.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar or eligibility for licensure in Washington.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation skills in both criminal and civil matters.

  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
