Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in Charleston, SC. The position offers hands-on experience in all phases of civil litigation, from case inception to trial, with opportunities for direct client contact. Remote or hybrid work options may be available following initial training and integration.

Duties

• Assess new files to establish action plans, budgets, and recommendations.
• Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as needed.
• Prepare discovery responses and manage document production.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing thorough reports.
• Negotiate settlements, secure authority, and prepare for trial as necessary.
• Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants.

Requirements

• 3+ years of practice experience, preferably in insurance defense.
• Licensed to practice law in South Carolina or pending bar exam results.
• Willingness to learn and work autonomously and within a team structure.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Education

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent.

Certifications

• Bar license in South Carolina.
