A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Construction and Litigation team in Mount Pleasant, SC. This role offers the opportunity to manage a broad caseload and engage in various stages of litigation, with a focus on construction defect, civil litigation, and related practice areas.

Duties

  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and briefs.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research to support case strategies and motions.
  • Communicate with clients and opposing parties to negotiate settlements and resolve disputes.
  • Oversee a diverse caseload independently from initiation through resolution.
  • Provide timely updates and case reports to clients and team members.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys during depositions and court appearances.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience, preferably in civil litigation, construction defect, toxic torts, or personal injury law.
  • Active license to practice law in South Carolina and in good standing with the South Carolina Bar.
  • Strong organizational skills to handle multiple cases efficiently.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing with excellent analytical skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • South Carolina State Bar License (Required).

Skills

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent writing and research abilities to support complex legal arguments.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage a varied caseload effectively.
  • Familiarity with legal software tools like WestLaw, i-Manage, and Juris Suite is advantageous.
